The Apollo Marine Intelligent Base Mounted UV Flame Detector 55000-027MAR is a flame detector that is sensitive to the ultraviolet (UV) radiation that is emitted by flames during combustion. Because the 55000-027MAR only requires UV radition, the detecor even responds to stationary flames with no flicker, such as cigarette lighters and blue gas flames.

The Apollo 55000-027MAR is set to respond to UV radiation (185 – 260nm) that is emitted by almost all flames, including those that are invisible to the naked eye.
The Apollo Marine 55000-027MAR has a single UV sensor with a narrow spectral repsonse in order to discriminiate between flames and most spurious sources of radiation. The 55000-027MAR is designed for use in internal, fully enclosed areas.
